Playing the role of a real person is never easy, and playing the role of a beloved icon is an even bigger challenge. Tom Hanks originally didn’t want to play Mr. Rogers in the new movie A Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood, but after director Marielle Heller convinced him to join the project, becoming Fred Rogers ended up teaching Hanks an important lesson.

During a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres on her daytime talk show, Hanks revealed that he tries to learn a little something from every gig. And, he says that Fred Rogers – who passed away in 2003 at the age of 74 – taught him that listening is a million times more important than talking.

“There’s an acronym that I’m using now in my own life – W.A.I.T., wait – which stands for ‘Why am I talking?’” explained the 63-year-old. “You should just sit and start listening to everybody who comes your way and you’ll be amazed at what you learn.”

He also thanked DeGeneres for listening to him, and told her she was a magnificent show host.

Millions of kids all over the United States grew up watching Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood on PBS – which ran from 1968 to 2001. And Hanks says that there was a lot of pressure from fans of the beloved TV legend, especially in his native Pittsburgh where they shot the movie.

Hanks said that during filming he found himself in an elevator with a Pittsburgh native, and they couldn’t stop grilling him for details about the movie. As the door to the elevator closed, Hanks said the fan told him: “You know, we take Mr. Rogers very seriously here in Pittsburgh.”

The Saving Private Ryan star joked that it was a veiled threat, and the fan was literally telling him not to screw it up.

Hanks admitted that getting into the right mindsight to play the TV legend required Heller coming to him and telling him to “slow down.”

Hanks explained that the director was “going for this obtuse thing,” which he described as “aggressive generosity,” And, the two-time Oscar winner says that’s what Fred Rogers practiced every day of his life.

A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood is now playing in theaters nationwide.

Sunday was a big night for Carrie Underwood at the American Music Awards. She won two statues and broke a record, but before she made history, she stunned while walking the Red Carpet in a royal purple Stello gown. The asymmetrical number featured a thigh-high slit that showed off Carrie’s extremely toned and well-defined legs and some are saying that Carrie’s right leg was the real winner of the night! Stello shared photos on their official Instagram account that displayed the full-length dress as well as Carrie on the American Music Awards Red Carpet and after she won two awards.

Marina Toybina styled Carrie and did an amazing job. Carrie Underwood has made multiple “best dressed” lists for her AMAs ensemble.

Carrie Underwood shared photos from her big night on Instagram where she has 9.2 million followers and she stated the following about her double win as Carrie won Favorite Female Artist: Country and Favorite Album: Country.

“Tonight was a dream! Carrie Underwood wore a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti heels in gold with the dress and the look was superb. She wasn’t the only celebrity to wear the luxury Italian footwear as Taylor Swift wore Zanotti thigh-high boots with her green goddess style Julien Macdonald dress.

Jennifer Tsourvakas Nielsen did Carrie Underwood’s nails and Melissa Martin did Carrie’s hair color. Carrie is getting a lot of praise for her platinum blonde locks and Melissa from Parlour 3 is getting a lot of kudos for her work.

Carrie accessorized the outfit with gorgeous, gold jewelry from Yvan Tufenkjian and Maxior Joias.

In the wake of his recent DUI arrest in Nashville, country singer Sam Hunt has canceled his upcoming performance at the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Awards in Tennessee on December 5th. Buy Me A Boat singer Chris Janson has been named as Hunt’s replacement.

Nashville police arrested Hunt last week after he was pulled over for driving on the wrong side of the road. According to WJHL NewsChannel 11 in Johnson City, Tennessee, Hunt was driving south in the northbound lanes of Ellington Parkway when officers were called to the scene and proceeded to pull Hunt over.

He was ‘drinkin’ too much.’ 🤭

The police said that when they encountered Hunt, he had bloodshot and watery eyes, smelled of alcohol, and had two empty beers in his vehicle. Hunt admitted that he had consumed alcohol “recently,” and police said in their incident report that he showed “numerous signs of impairment on all tests conducted.”

Hunt’s blood alcohol level ended up being .173, which is twice the legal limit in Tennessee. After his arrest, the Drinkin’ Too Much singer apologized for his actions on Twitter.

“Wednesday night I decided to drive myself home after drinking at a friend’s show in downtown Nashville,” wrote Hunt. “It was a poor and selfish decision and I apologize to everyone who was unknowingly put at risk and let down by it. It won’t happen again.”

Best known for his hit single Body Like A Back Road, Hunt said during an interview on The Bobby Bones Show last month that he was uncomfortable with the word “star,” and hearing it made him cringe a little bit.

Hunt explained that the celebrity that comes with being a singer in this society is strange for him, and so is the pedestal that you get put on. Hunt said he felt a little bit undeserving of the attention and focus on him just because he created some music.

The 34-year-old made it clear that his music was not a real reflection of his character or morality, and he felt there were other things that were more deserving of attention. Sam Hunt said that “it’s just talent,” but it’s not a “heroic talent.” However, famous singers are still kind of looked at in that way.

Ciara hosted the American Music Awards and she pulled out all the stops when it came to her Red Carpet look. Ciara wore an electric blue, Balmain suit with a jeweled, and metallic harness. She looked divine on the Red Carpet but she also drew plenty of praise and attention for her hair and makeup. Celebrity wigmaker and hairstylist César DeLeön Ramirêz shared multiple photos of Ciara as she prepared for the big night and fans couldn’t help but notice how gorgeous Ciara’s hair was.  Ciara’s hair was to her lower back, parted in the middle and flowed past her waist. The electric blue colors of the Balmain jacket was perfectly complemented by the hair charms César used, as well as the tones of her makeup.

Ciara wore her hair in loose waves, as opposed to it being straight. The wavy look was gorgeous on her and flowed with the lines of the oversized jacket as well as the intricate detailing of the harness she wore.  It’s doubtful straight hair would have the same effect as the wavy look and the Internet couldn’t stop talking about Ciara’s Red Carpet appearance.

You may see the photos that César shared on his official Instagram account, where he not only spoke about Ciara’s hair but talked about the products he used to create the look.

In addition to electric blue, Ciara’s look featured plenty of turquoise stones. The combination was exquisite and she had turquoise in the harness as well as her jewelry. The harness culminated in a large circular turquoise stone that gave the outfit a bohemian or even Native American feel.

Ciara wore the outfit with matching blue slacks that flared out at the ends.

Most striking was Ciara’s makeup which was done by her friend and celebrity makeup artist Yolanda Frederick. Yolanda used Pat McGrath’s products on Ciara’s eyes and shared photos with an explanation of how she created Ciara’s look.
