Gunlord X Is Coming To PlayStation 4 Bringing Futuristic Side Scrolling Action In An Explosive Run And Gun Enviroment

Gunlord X released back in 2012 and since then has been an extremely popular side-scrolling shooter that reminds fans of the arcade game experiences. Visually it holds several of the same elements that many games back in the 90s gave to fans. The game was created by NGDEV, which is a small indie company based in Germany. They make it their mission to develop arcade games for modern audiences.

Gunlord X is now coming to the PlayStation Store on December 10 and will be sold for $9.99. This gives a whole new community a chance for some arcade action. This game has clear inspiration from the Turrican series as it mixes exploration and run & gun action into a ballad of harmony.

Although originally released on Steam and eventually Nintendo Switch, the company stresses that this is not a simple port. There is a bunch of new features and improvements that will make this a truly definitive version of the game.

The developers have increased the level sizes and added new secrets and challenges throughout the entire game’s experience. There is also a brand new stage and four new boss enemies for players to test their mettle against.

There are things weighing in on the player’s favor as well with a new power shot weapon meant to blast the baddies apart. The developers are also including difficulty adjustments with rebalanced levels, permanent continues, level warp shortcuts, and a brand new auto-save feature. This makes the entire game exceedingly easier to navigate and overall a more modern gaming experience in contrast to the arcade styling.

A new game mode+ has been added with an accomplishment screen designed for speedrunners. The developers want fans to challenge themselves, and in true classic arcade fashion, the game will become even more ruthless than before. Perfect precision is needed to collect all the accomplishments, but no doubt, some gamer out there has the skills to make it through.

A new platform means more control options. The control scheme is now fully customizable, and a new optional modern twin-stick control setting can be used to take advantage of two joysticks.

This game gives true power to classic action arcade gameplay, and with tons of new features, it seems this new edition will be a must-buy for even owners of the current game. It is launching in time for the holiday season, so it may be something to add to any PlayStation owner’s wishlist. If you want a standard experience, the game is available on Steam and Nintendo Switch in its classic form.

Kojima Productions Steps in to Stop Players From Griefing Others With Vehicles

Kojima Productions is stepping in to help players that have been being griefed by others in a unique way. Recently, players have been leaving their vehicles in places that block entrances or turn-ins for quests, making it impossible for others in the open-world to turn in their own quests.

This has plenty of negative repercussions, from not allowing other players to progress in the story to simply stopping people from getting quest rewards. In essence, this small thing is game-breaking.

To counteract this, Kojima Productions is implementing a quick fix as part of their mid-December patch. We don’t have any specifics on exactly how this will work, but Kojima Productions confirmed on Twitter that the issue was definitely acknowledged and would be dealt with.

It isn’t just quests being affected, either. Players leaving their trucks on roads impedes the progress of others and forces them to off-road, which can sometimes end in disaster. Every facet of the game is affected by a factor as small as individual vehicles being left behind.

It’s a bit alarming, honestly, that this was something that even made it to the final game. With all of the polish and care that Kojima Productions poured into the game, you would think that one of the many people on the team would have foreseen the game-breaking capabilities of impassable vehicles. Whether it’s on the road or blocking the way to Conan O’Brien, an impassable barrier is always going to be annoying and letting other players pick where to put it is even worse.

Of course, one can never underestimate the capabilities of the online community to find new ways to grief each other. It’s almost impressive that no matter what game it is, online players discover some way to be a nuisance to others. It just so happens that in this case, the griefing has the ability to completely stop progress in the game.

So what sort of fix can we expect to see? It’s unlikely that Kojima Productions will give players the ability to outright delete the vehicles of other players, as that would lead to a fresh new type of griefing. Some fans are theorizing that we may see a “downvote” system that allows players to more or less report the vehicles of others and have them removed.

The problem with this second method is that it’s by no means a quick fix and would likely need multiple players to report it. This won’t help anyone who’s in a hurry or wants to progress without waiting hours.

Either way, we’ll only have to wait another week or two before we see what Kojima Productions had in mind.

Brawlhalla Adds the Crystal Gems of Steven Universe, Including Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Stevonnie

Brawlhalla added to their ever-growing roster today with four new characters, each from the Steven Universe… universe. The four characters included are the Crystal Gems themselves, with Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Stevonnie each making their own appearance.

Obviously, those familiar with the show will be familiar with these characters outright, but those that haven’t seen it will quickly grow accustomed to the powerful group. Each has been incorporated in a way that seems integrated with their show counterparts, for better and for worse. Garnet hits like a truck, Pearl is fast with decent range, Amethyst is tricky and transformative, and Stevonnie is balanced well with offense and defense.

The Crystal Gems from Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe warped in to Brawlhalla to save the day! This new Crossover Event brings Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Stevonnie, a new game mode, and more!

The Crystal Gems aren’t the only thing being added. This group joins as part of a whole game-wide event, bringing new perks for the whole populace. The Malachite KO Effect has been added, featuring the Steven Universe monstrosity grasping your opponent and dragging them down with them.

There’s also a new Steven Universe themed game mode as well as a Brawl of the Week called Bubble Tag. In this game mode, players will join a 3v3 team-based game where you tag enemies to capture them in bubbles while also tagging your teammates to free them from their own capture. Being bubbled doesn’t make you immobile, meaning its a hectic and swift game mode. First to five takes the victory!

Players will also enjoy a daily login bonus of 250 gold, as well as a new 1v1 map based on the Crystal Temple. A Steven Universe theme will be taking over the UI for a while as well.

There is a handful of quality of life enhancements coming, too. The match duration for Free-for-all has been lowered to three minutes instead of the previous four to allow time for more matches. Additionally, the default match duration for Timed and Buddy game modes has been lowered to three minutes when played in Couch or Custom Online. Fangwild and Enigma have also had their timings changed to fit these new timers.

Finally, there are a handful of minor bug fixes, as well as making a few animations smoother. The new Legend rotation is here as well, with Rayman, Sentinel, Sir Roland, Isaiah, petra, Asuri, Diana, and Mirage being free for the time being. All in all, it’s another great installment of new content and brief fixes from the dedicated Brawhalla team to keep the game fresh.
