According to a report from TheHollywoodReporter.com, South Park sparked controversy again for the way in which they portrayed transgender athletes. Recently, much controversy surrounds transgender athletes in the culture, including on whether or not trans men should be able to compete in women’s categories.

The seventeenth episode of the 23rd season revolved around the character, Strong Woman, entering the Strongwoman Competition after she had already competed once in the years prior and came out victorious.

When asked by a sportscaster about the proposition of seeing trans men in the female category, Strong Woman says she’s happy about the idea and welcomes them. The purported comedy comes into play when Heather Swanson enters the frame, and it looks and sounds a lot like the late Randy Savage.

The Randy Savage-lookalike claims she started identifying as a woman “two weeks ago” for the sake of getting into the competition. Randy’s lookalike says, “I’m not here to talk about my transition, I’m here to kick some f*cking a*s.”

Ironically, Savage passed away at the age of 58-years-old in 2011. Later in the episode, Heather – the Randy Savage look-alike – obviously wins all of the female-dominated competitions and picks a fight with Strong Woman.

Later on in the episode, it turns out that the Randy Savage doppelganger was once a boyfriend of Strong Woman, and he chose to enter the competition as an act of revenge against him for embarrassing him in the past. Fans of the show know this wouldn’t be the first time South Park irritated particular groups.

Earlier this year, South Park reportedly sparked the ire of the Chinese government after the series’ creators portrayed the Xi Jinping as Winnie The Pooh. Moreover, Trey Parker and Matt Stone made fun of the fact that many Hollywood films are re-edited or re-written in some way in order to pass Chinese regulations.

In the episode, Stan is writing a script and every time he writes a word on the page, an official from the Chinese government scribbles it out and writes something different, to which Stan responds with: “now I know how Hollywood writers feel.”

The story of Rodney Reed has become quite the dramatic and long-winded one, as the man has so far spent over two decades on death row, and is still awaiting his execution.

Reed has always insisted that his conviction was wrong and that he was innocent but has not managed to prove that so far.

And recently, a large number of people — including prominent celebrity names — have organized a petition to plea the court for a stay of execution.

It looks like the movement is gaining a lot of traction, and more than 300,000 people already have signed.

The deadline is approaching fast, as the man’s execution has been scheduled for November 20, and it looks like the court is going to go through with it this time.

A lot is still unknown, and some have pointed out that the court is acting rather harshly and without verifying the full extent of the situation first.

The list of names, who have called for a stay of execution, includes Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, and more.

Many people have been discussing the case online, and it has gained a lot of attention in recent months.

While it is not clear whether the court is going to change its decision based on recent developments, it does look like this situation might put the legal system in a very tough spot if the execution does go through, with all the attention the case has received so far already.

Almost half of a million people have signed a petition to exonerate Reed.

It reads in part: “Dear Governor Greg Abbott:

1. Rodney Reed is innocent.

2. The state relied on expert testimony to convict Rodney Reed that has since been recanted BY THE EXPERTS who put forth the testimony.

Three renown medical examiners have concluded it is “medically impossible” for Stacey Stites to have been killed at the time the state says she died. This alone exonerates Rodney Reed. Reed was convicted based on forensic expert testimony that has now been recanted by the scientists and agencies that offered the evidence on behalf of the state. In fact, leading forensic pathologists have concluded that it would be “medically and scientifically impossible” for Reed to have murdered Stites. This new forensic evidence (which the state hasn’t contradicted) indicates that Stites was murdered at a time that her fiance, local police officer Jimmy Fennell, testified that he was alone with Stites in their apartment. Fennell recently completed a ten-year prison sentence after he pleads guilty to felony charges arising out of the kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman he encountered while on patrol as a Georgetown, Texas police officer. Rodney Reed is innocent and should be exonerated, not executed.”

The next few days will be crucial in this case.
